Vacation Is Over

Going back to work from vacation is no fun at all. For me, I am glad and not at the same time because sometimes I need help to take care of AJ. At home, Im the only one who watch him most of the time and at the daycare AJ is with his teacher all day and all weekdays while Im working which is a very big help. I could visit and play with him anytime I want. During my one hour lunch break I take him out for a walk but only when he is awake. When his asleep I take a nap to. I know that hubby is been so busy with his play but after that I am hoping that he will start helping me with everything especially taking care of AJ

Video Camera

I asked hubby to buy me a video camera and he did as a Xmas gift last year because I thought that my camera doesn’t have video. I just found out yesterday that my camera have video because Judith and I have the same camera that she used it yesterday when she took a video of AJ. This morning I tried to take a video of AJ and it works. I am so happy and now I can use my camera for taking videos. I tried to post the video here but it didn't work Ill try again next post.

Just Another Day

Today we went to visit Joe’s school during their lunch break because Joe’s co-teacher wants to see AJ. Everybody was all over him, phrasing him and of course mommy and daddy were so proud to hear all the nice compliments. After visiting the school, we went to see Judith and had lunch there. I can tell that Judith likes to have a baby of her own. The way she plays and interacts with kids. She was playing with AJ today and they both had fun, she even took a lot of pictures and video. I can’t wait to have a copy of the video so that I can post it here. When AJ was about to take his nap he started to cry while he was playing with Judith so I picked him up put him on his car set and gave his bottle of milk and rock his car set then he fast asleep just like that. I took a nap as well while Judith was on the computer and watching tv at the same time. AJ and I had a good nap but he was still sleeping when we came home. But before we come home we stopped by Kim’s house to pick up Wraphell’s stroller we didn’t even stay because it was already late. We got home at 8:00 p.m. and Joe was already home waiting for us.

Busy Tuesday

Winnie and I been planing to go to Central YMCA daycare and also go to the YMCA Gym to check the place on Tuesday. AJ and I left home at 9:30 to start our day. But before we start our long day I dropped of AJ at Winnie’s house for an hour so that I can go to my appointment which is three stop lights away from my house, three minutes drive. My appointment took only 20 minutes. Then I went back to Winnie’s house to pick up AJ and this time with Winnie and Justine so that we can go to the place where we been planing to go before going somewhere else that is not important. I know that we can’t park in any red paint because that’s only for the fire fighter just in case of an emergency. But I though that it would be ok to park there just to put our stuff and load the kids in the car for a couple minutes or so. So I parked my car in front of Winnie’s house where there’s red paint. I parked between red and plain concrete. From inside the house I can see my car. Then five minutes later I saw this guy who is in charge of the parking tickets. I ran outside right away to let him know that Im just picking up my baby and I just parked there for at least five minutes, I tried to talk to him but he still gave me the ticket. I was so mad that I gave him a bad look and he got mad at me by giving him a bad look and at the same he said, that Im so lucky that he didn’t charge me more. Then I moved my car. When Winnie was ready to go, I moved my car back and parked in front of her house but this time my car was in the middle of the street with an emergency blinking on.
After the YMCA, we went to Kaiser Permanente at Campbell to get Winnie’s blood drawn for her glucose test. We stayed there for at least two hours. Then we decided to hang out at Valley Fair. We came into Macy’s store and went to the perfume section to check their especial promotion on Burberry perfume that I saw in the catalog. I wasn’t going to buy anything because Im saving money to buy a new purse but I couldn’t resist the Burberry make up bag for free when you purchase at least $65 of Burberry perfume. So I bought the perfume with the make up bag for free on the way out of the mall. At 3:00 p.m., Mary Ann called Winnie while were watching Justine playing on the playground at the Mall that she doesn’t want to go home yet after work. But I offered that we could pick her up. So we ended up having dinner at Outback with Mary Ann’s treats. AJ and I came home at 9:00 p.m..

AJ is Not Feeling Well

This morning AJ was totally fine playing nicely smiling and giggling as he always does. But at 4:30 he felt warm so I took his temperature and he had 100. AJ had cough, runny nose, and a little fever at the same time. So I gave him baby Tylenol to make him a little bit better. Even though he is not feeling well his still trying to be happy. Then tonight I am supposed to be at school but I didn’t go. I can’t leave AJ knowing he is not feeling good. I called Winnie whose watching him when I go to school to let her knows that Im keeping AJ tonight with me. When I called her, she was in the hospital for her ultra sound. So I have no choice then if I still want to go to school because she is not available after all. Right now AJ is a little bit better thank god. Hopefully tomorrow he will be fine. I know it is hard for a mom when their baby is sick and not able to do anything to make it go away.

Easter Egg Hunt/Picnic

We spent our Easter Sunday at Happy Hollow Park with my friends and their family. The weather was perfect blue sky and we got the nicest private spot at the park reserved by Wrapshell. But when we got there the parking lot was already full. So Wrapshel and I had to park all the way to the residential place to park. We walked at least half miles to get to the park but it’s ok it was worth it. Rona and her family were the first one there. They brought a lot of foods and the rest of the girls brought some food to share except me. I brought Easter egg candy for the egg hunts.

The Happy Hollow Park is nice park and safe place for children of all ages. There are creative play areas, puppet show, special events, rides and birthday areas. Some of my friends kids went for a ride on a dragon train and they had fun. Then all the girls decided to ride on the dragon but we were too late the dragons already left for the last ride when we got there. But instead we were taking pictures of Opera House even AJ was having fun being in the picture. The party would be more fun with a picture taken and of course the girls were crazy taking pictures all over. Time passed by so quickly that we have to pack our belongings because the park was about to close. Then everybody was headed home one at the time. We had so much and we all agreed that the place was awesome and that we could be held our future events here.

What We Did On Saturday

Yesterday morning, AJ and I woke up at six but we just stayed in the bedroom. AJ was playing and I was surfing the net. We came out from the bedroom at 12 pm. I took my shower and got dress while Hubby was watching AJ then I dressed AJ up this is kinda routine for me and AJ on the weekend. Since AJ was playing on his bouncer and watch tv, I did some laundry and house chores. At 2 pm we went to Costco to pick up AJ’s milk. Costco is wholesale corporation and one of the biggest retail in the USA. You can only shop there if you are a member. This store is primarily to a large family and businesses, they sell the product at low price and everything is bulk-pack.

Anyway, when were about to leave the store I saw the Morin Family at the register checking their things out. This is the third times that we ran into each other but we are not surprise because we are neighboors we expect to see each other anytime. We came home dropped off the milk that we bought at costco and leave again to see our tax man and we met hubby there. After meeting the tax man AJ and I went home and hubby went back to school to finish some stuff.

At night, AJ and I went to Santana Row to meet the girls. I picked up Winnie from her house and the three of us got there first. The plan supposed to be eating dinner at Maggianos Restaurant but I decided to order calamaris to go right away because I was starving and I wasn't sure if the other girls will eat there. We had a table in front of a starbucks and I started eating while waiting for the other girls to arrive. Half an hour later, 2 girls came and they were hungry too so they ordered spaghetti to go. The five of us were eating, drinking some starbucks, chilling and chika chika. The night was getting colder so we went inside the starbuck stayed there the whole time until 12 am. I dropped off Winnie home and we got home at 12:30 AJ was sleeping the whole time.

Easter Craft/Art Project

These are the Easter art projects that my kids made this week. They work so hard and always want to do more activities like this. They feel proud of themselves when they accomplish something that they are into. I took a lot of pictures so that I ca email it to the parents who are interested to see their children art activities or what we did for the week. Some parents appreciate their kid’s hard work by phrasing them and taking their art at home and putting it up on the wall of their house but some parents don’t.

One time I saw this mom checking her child’s art folder in my classroom. She took it out from the folder looked at it and throw it in the garbage and the kid saw what her mom did to her art project of course she asked why then the mom answered, we don’t have room in our house to put your art. The kid didn’t say a word. What kind of mom is that. I think she doesn’t appreciate or support her child interest. It’s so sad to a child to have a parent like that.

Egg Hunts

This week my students were busy preparing for this day to come. They made an Easter art and craft project for the entire week and they even made their own goodie basket to put their eggs when they go for an egg hunt which is today. The school was only open half day because it’s good Friday. We started our egg hunts at 10:00 outside in the playgroundAt. The kids were all over the place looking for eggs but it didn’t last long the eggs were found just like that. Then at 10:30 we went back in the classroom and started our small party. Parents brought different kind of food to share and candy for the kids. Not all parents came but mostly. After the party we went back outside for some free play while waiting for the parents to pick them up. The kids had fun hunting Easter eggs and enjoyed having their own party. One of my kids says that this is the best party ever.

Spring Has Sprung

It’s hard to believe that spring is here again. The arrival of warmer and long day is to allow us even better weather to get outdoors and make most of our days. To take advantage of these moment, we have to get out of the house find something to see and do. There is no reason to stay inside the house. One thing I didn’t like springs is because it is also a seasonal allergy. I have an allergy since forever. My eyes start to itch like today. I was sneezing like nonstop and ended up having a bad headache and no wonder, it’s because today is the first day of spring duh! New plants are growing, flowers are blooming and of course pollen was all over the place causing of allergies. But there is a lot of treatment that can help. For me, I tried a lot of medicine but it didn’t work. As of now, my other doctor gave me new allergy medicine hopefully this time would work because Im tired of having this allergy, can you believe it I could not wear any perfume. When I use it, I will sneeze all day long until I take a shower. So anyway, I wish everybody to have a cheerful, colorful and blooming new life.

Spring Break

I can’t wait for this week to be over because next week our school is close for spring break, yippy. Working at Christian Preschool is a good thing. We have one week vacation on spring, one week on summer then two weeks on Christmas with paid. And also, I got lucky that my Lil one AJ goes there for no cost. It will be $1300 a month if I have to pay, how expensive is that and where can you find a daycare for free now a day.

Anyway, spring break should be a relaxing time or going somewhere for fun. Well, hubby’s spring break is not until the middle of April so we can’t really go out of town. Since Joe is working that week AJ and I will be hanging out with some friends during the day but mostly stay home hopefully I can relax because I can only relax when AJ is sleeping and also when Im done with my house chores. AJ always occupied me and he likes to be entertained at all times.

Teacher/Parents Conference

Twice a year, we have to have a teacher and parent’s conference and today was my schedule to meet the parent. Some parents may feel uncomfortable going inside their child’s classroom listening to their children’s behavior and work class. But they didn’t know that teacher also may feel uncomfortable talking to the parents may be uncertain about how to handle unhappy or critical parents. Mostly parents want to know how their kids doing inside the class if they are happy, listening or not.

First, I greeted the parents with a smile, sat down and started talking about their child for atleast 30 minutes. I was happy when the parents told me that they were satisfied about my philosophy of teaching my class. I found out that the parents and I were in the same page regarding their children way of learning. Before the conference ended, I asked every parent if there is some other way that I could help their kids. I felt relief when the last parents left my classroom and I am so proud of myself that it went very well. Now, I am preparing for the next conference this coming June

Language Activity

Today at school, we did language activity called " HeadBand". Each student has their own headband and flash card. The student form into pairs and the cards should fit in the beadband so that the other student couldn’t see the picture. They have to guess the object on what’s in the card ( an animal, food, furniture, etc ) after hearing the clues from their partner. The partners alternate taking turn giving clues. The children can also ask questions. If the child guesses their noun, their partner can get them another card.

These activities support language and literacy in man y ways. The word on the flash card is reinforced and their vocabulary is extended by giving and responding to clues. The clue’s giver must use clear language when describing the object. Children had to increase their thinking power to give good clues.

As I was watching them, I observed one child who liked to give the clue instead of guessing the object and other children got frustrated when they were giving the clues and their partner had no idea what the object was. In this case, a child who got frustrated could ask help from another child to give more clues. When a child is giving clues, they often use total physical response and gesture to reinforce meaning.

My student got involved in these activities because they are fun and enjoyable. They interacted with other children and socialized with them and got motivated.

How We Spend Our Sunday

Today we did our Sunday morning routine. Wake up so early but stayed in bed playing with AJ. At 10:00 I took a shower dressed myself up and I dressed AJ up. We watched tv while hubby was getting ready. Then the three of us were ready, and we went to Denny’s for brunch. I always get my usual dish Buffalo wings with hot sauce on the side and hubby tried a new dish he ordered steak with eggs. The place was packed as always especially on Sunday people mostly come after church. Speaking of church, we should start going to church it’s been a long time since I attended a mass. Anyway, we came home after lunch just chilling in the house. AJ was so fussy since we got home, he wants to be held all the time and I can’t hold him all the time my arms were aching. I was mad at Joe because he didn’t help me taking care of AJ. Then at 4:00 p.m. we decided to go to target to cool down and to get AJ’s bouncer. We came back home and hubby started cooking dinner and I was doing laundry. He cooked spaghetti and garlic bread. We ate the dinner with red wine, how fancy is that? That’s how we spent our Sunday.

Nathan's 2nd B-day

Last night I was planning to wake up early on Saturday morning which is this morning so that we can go to my friend Angie for her son’s christening before going to Nathan’s b-day, so much for the plan we ended up not going to Angie. We did wake up early because AJ woke up so early and I got lazy to get up to take a shower. We just stayed in bed and played for a couple hours. I took a shower and got ready around 11:00 while hubby was playing with AJ. Then, I gave AJ a bath dressed him up. At 1:00 we took off on the way to Nathan’s b-day. Before I started my car, I got a phone call from Myrabell asking the address of the place where they celebrate the party.

AJ and I were the first visitors too arrived. It was a little embarrassing but oh well, I guess we were on time. I didn’t know who arrive next I lost track , I think they came at the same time. All of my other groups of friends came and I met new friends. The table was full of a variety dish, and they were Filipino and Mexican food. Then we started eating, we ate and ate and at the same time talked and talked nonstop of talking. Some of the ladies went home early because they have some obligation to do.

They even hired a lady clown for kids to have a face paint. All of the kids had their face painted different kind of picture, they were butterfly’s spider webs, flowers and much more, even myrabell painted her face flowers. And also, the kids had fun beating the pinata apart and lots of candy scattered when it broke. All the kids were crazy picking up the candies on the ground as well as the adult, even me with AJ on my arms imagine that. As for AJ, he did a good job entertaining his titas ( Filipina Friends ) when he wasn’t sleeping. We got home at 5:30 with a full tummy and a bag of candy. It was a good party and it was nice to see my other friends. Thank you Richard and Joy for the fun party. I had fun and Im sure AJ too.

It's Friday

It’s finally Friday, and it’s the end of another week and time for the weekend to start. This week, I’ve been so busy that I could hardly wait to set back, relax, hang out with family and friends. This weekend, almost of my friends and their family are going to Lake Tahoe for a ski trip together. Only Oona, Joy and my family are not going because we already had plans. On Saturday, AJ and I are going to party. At 11:00 A.M. we are going to Angie’s son christening then at 1:00 to my friend Joy for her son’s 2nd b-day. Hopefully will be home before dark. On Sunday morning, we just gonna stay home and sleep a little bit more. Maybe go out to Denny’s for brunch and dunno what we are going to do in the afternoon. We will see. Have a nice day.

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a Festival that Ireland’s official celebration for national holiday. They celebrate it with parties and parades. This week our school theme is St. Patrick’s Day. My children and I read, and talk about Ireland. We did some arts and crafts. Today we made a rainbow streamer and rainbow mobile. Both activities are very colorful and easy to make it. The children had fun doing it. Some people here in the USA are also celebrating St. Patrick’s Day whether they are Irish or not. Hubby and I love to go to any Festival and looking forward to going to this festival this weekend.

Play Dress Up

Im my classroom, I have this container full of different kinds of clothes and variety of accessories for my student to play dress up. Playing dress up will help them to play out a variety of roles. They have an opportunity to learn more about grownups in their lives. And also, their imaginations will never cease to amaze. They could imitate different profession and adult they know. Play is a child’s natural way to learn about self, others and the world. When you let them, know their play has value, you’re telling them that you believe they have value, too. As you can see in the picture that I included they seem, they had so much fun. Watching these kids playing nicely to each other made my day and feels proud to be there helping them in any circumstances

Pregnant and Childbirth

It was a strange feeling but great when I found out that I was pregnant. I was so excited and wanted to go home from work to share my news. I texted all my friends telling them that I might be pregnant. They were so happy for me. That night when I came home I told my husband that we are going to be parent he didn’t believe me. I showed him the pregnancy test that it shows positively sign to proof it he still didn’t convince. He told me to make an appointment to my doctor to make sure. Surely enough, I was really pregnant. I couldn’t wait to see my baby. I counted every single months and days to come.
I felt so totally amazed at myself after giving birth. It was so hard work and yet very rewarding. Everyone said, expects to lose sleep, so I expected it. But the things that really changed are so slight and add that no one could be prepared you. The birth is the beginning not the end. Being a mom for the first is a great feeling that I would treasure and it is something that would be hard to replace it. I have been given the greatest gift.

How Do You Like Monday

How Do You Like Monday

1) A good day to start you weekdays.
2) It is hard to get up early
3) Weekend is over
4) It’s a fresh start

For me, it’s depending on what your doing on any given Monday. If you are doing something that you do or don’t like. I find it really hard to get up early in the morning to get ready, but I have to drag myself to go to the bathroom. I think today was a worse Monday morning because of the day light saving. It started yesterday, the time changed to an hour advance.
AJ and I had a long day today. I got off early from work and went to meet my Child Studies counselor to evaluate my transcript so that I can file a California Child Development Permit. Luckily, we finished early. I went back to the place where I work to pick up AJ who is also go there for daycare. Finally we were home, but not quite yet. We just came home to grab an extra clothes and milk for AJ. We didn’t even stay long to rest. At 5:45 I dropped off AJ to my friend Winnie who babysit him and I went straight to school. My class ended at 8:30. Then from school, I went to pick up AJ and hubby needs a ride to the auto shop to get his car so I picked him up as well from our house so we drove together to the shop dropped hubby off. AJ and I went home together. This time we were really home . What a day, hopefully tomorrow will be back to normal schedules, go work and come home.

Lunch and hang out with friends

My friends and I went to have lunch at Barrio Fiesta Restaurant. The food was excellent as always and a great place to dine in, whether you’re Filipino or not. Some of our friends didn’t make it due to their busy schedule. As usual, when we get together there is always the chika chika After having lunch we decided to hang out again at Santana Row. Santana Row is an expensive shopping center where you can find everything you need and crave and more than a mere collection of stores. We drank star bucks and more chika while watching our little one's playing in a private playground and we did window shopping. Spending time with my friends are always fun. We are planning to do this every weekend.

Being A Teacher

I began my teaching career on 2001. Being a teacher is a lot of responsibility and you must have patience but at the same time it's fun. Before I started working as a Preschool teacher, I used to work in a supermarket as a Courtesy Clerk. But one day, I realized that I've always loved kids and I feel good at getting down to their level and communicate with them. I spend my day singing the alphabet and counting number. We get to play all day, do art, get messy and be creative. Anything for a four years old could imagine making it into reality.
I help young children become good student for the future. I serve not only as a teacher but as a role model, disciplinarian, and caretakers rolled into one. One of the best parts of the job is getting hugs and kisses from the kids and being part of their lives. Now I am looking forward to combining my knowledge with other teacher to create a wonderful learning experience and have many happy memories in the future.

Digital Scraping

One of my friends loves to do scraping and here’s some of her work. I grabbed only the picture that she scrapped that Im on it. I did try to do some scrapping but it turned out not so good, then I stopped not because I wasn’t good at, it’s because of my busy schedule. Maybe this time I’ll give it a shout again
