The Best Teachers

I got a gift card and thank you card from my director for teacher's appreciation with this poem about the best teachers

The Best Teachers

Teachers open up young minds,

showing them the wonders of the intellect

and the miracle

of being able to think for themselves

A teacher exercises

the mental muscles of students, stretching and strengthening,

so they can make challenging decisions,

find their way in the world,

and become independent.

The best teachers and care enough

To gently push and proud students

to do their best

and fulfill their potential.

You are one of those.

Friday the 13

Some people believe that Friday the 13 is bad luck or unlucky and today is the Friday the 13 and I got unlucky, after having lunch with all my co-workers for our teachers’ appreciation at The Cheese cake Factory. AJ and I went to Valley Fair and bought a wallet for Joe as a Father’s day gift. After paying I put the wallet right away under AJ’s stroller before I could lose it then we walked around for one hour. When I started putting everything in the car, I noticed that the small bag where the wallet is wasn’t at the stroller. I was so mad at myself I couldn’t believe. It’s so painful thinking about it.

End Of The School Year

Every end of the school year our center is having a special closing program held at a church since we are Christian school. Each class prepares two songs from 2 years old class to my class the Pre-k. The graduating children wear graduation hat and other wear nicest outfits. The ceremony started by being introduced by our director. I gave a well unprepared speech not long but it was from the heart. Then I called each graduate by their first name to come up to the front. I handed each one their diploma or certificate of achievement and then the children sing their songs for the parents. We all sang “ You Are My Sun Shine” at the end of the ceremony. The parents all were snapping picture and also video taping. I was so proud of my kids. At the end of the program, we have a little party and the families all brought some dishes to share and the school provides drink. Another year past by and summer is just around the corners and we are ready for it.

Taking Shower With AJ

AJ loves to take a bath in the sink and he enjoys playing with his toys in it then he discovered that he could splash the water with his hands. He would do it every bath time now that the counter and floor get soaking wet. I decided to take him in the shower with me to see if likes it or not and last night was his first time. He really loves it more than the bath and he wasn’t scared at all. The running water didn’t bother him even when he gets water on his eyes. He watched the running water down on his hand with a big smile on his face. He sat at the back of the tub with toys and I rinsed myself then sat down with him. I used a cup to rinse him off and we played for a couple of minutes. Taking a shower with your baby is a magnificent moment and it’s a great way for bonding. Before when I have to take my shower and nobody would watch him I put his rocking chair in the bathroom floor and talk or sing to him. The sound of the running water would make him happy and stay still on his chair that I could take a good shower. Now I could get a shower without having someone to watch him

Knowing that AJ is not afraid of the water is a good sign because in 2 weeks he has a swimming lesson at the YMCA and Joe will take him. I want my AJ to learn early and develop his comfort in the water. We are excited for him and I am sure he will love the swimming pool.
